Youth Arts Teachers

Youth Arts Teachers
Black Mountain Center for the Arts (BMCA) invites passionate and creative teaching artists to propose and lead new youth visual arts programming and after‑school craft clubs for children and teens.
BMCA’s mission is to “bring the arts to the people—and people to the arts,” with a strong commitment to inclusivity and community engagement. As a vibrant hub offering weekly classes, workshops, performances, and gallery exhibitions, we seek to expand our youth offerings with fresh, imaginative, and skill-building programs.
We welcome proposals from motivated individuals who:
- Are experienced teaching artists in visual media (painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, clay, fiber/textile, etc.).
- Work well with youth, ideally ages 5–17, in school or community settings.
- Design engaging, accessible, inclusive curricula, encouraging creativity, confidence, and art literacy.
- Understand or reflect the Black Mountain/Buncombe County community, and are committed to diversity and equity in arts access.
We’re Looking For Individuals with:
- A passion for inclusive arts.
- Experience in fields such as dance/movement, special education, occupational therapy, disability rights, community programming, or nonprofit leadership.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and creative-strategy skills.
- Community ties in Asheville and Buncombe County, especially connections to diverse and underrepresented groups.
