Teaching Artists

Teaching Artists

Start Date: September 03, 2026
Deadline: November 30, 2026

The Asheville Art Museum is seeking experienced artists to teach classes and workshops to adults in 2027!

Our Adult Studio program is held twice monthly on dedicated Saturday afternoons, allowing room for students to delve deeper into a medium while drawing inspiration from the Museum’s collection. These classes range from artistic foundations like drawing and painting, to more specialized classes, like brewing tinctures or making mosaics. The Museum invites local and regional artists to apply and welcomes proposals from underrepresented artists and art forms. Instructors should have a mastery of their medium, be passionate about working with adult learners, have experience and facility in teaching, and make direct, thoughtful connections between course material and art in the galleries. Apply Here.

Artists are paid $30-$45 per student for a 3 or 6 hour class. Class attendance minimums are 6 and maximums are 12. Most materials are provided by the Museum, and specialized materials can be ordered as well. If you or your artists have any additional questions feel free to email: jdewit@ashevilleart.org
