Holly Jolly in the Swannanoa Valley

December 05, 2025 - December 06, 2025

A beloved Swannanoa Valley tradition filled with lights, laughter, and holiday cheer. Holly Jolly is one of the most cherished traditions in the Swannanoa Valley. Each year, locals, businesses, non-profits, schools, government partners, and visitors come together to celebrate the season.

The festivities take place on the first Friday and Saturday of December, with the Parade closing out the weekend on Saturday night. The annual Holly Jolly celebration is set to take place Friday, December 5, 2025 in the charming "Little Town that Rocks," Black Mountain. In addition to local shops staying open late (5-8 PM) to help you check names off your Christmas gift list, you can expect dazzling light & window displays, delicious refreshments, live entertainment, visits with Santa, and much more.

The annual Christmas parade is set to take place on Saturday, December 6 at 4 PM starting at Flat Creek Road on State Street and going to Craigmont Road traveling through downtown and will feature over 100 entries, 50 floats, vehicles, and performers. Both of these holiday extravaganzas will kick off the most wonderful time of the year!
