Searching for Dance Class Space!

Searching for Dance Class Space!

Start Date: May 28, 2026
Deadline: June 28, 2026

Would you. like to increase foot traffic in your art space?

We are looking for spaces that are friendly to the arts in Asheville that would be willing to host Argentine Tango once per week. We require a space with a wood floor (or otherwise smooth floor).

The hope would be to have a class on a Monday, Wednesday or Thursday evening.

Monday is least preferable because holidays tend to make things bumpy, but if that's what's available we're able to consider that.

My co-teacher and I are looking for a stable place to offer classes where we have regularity and predictability to build and grow community and to foster this particular form of art - which is always improvisational once you have the fundamentals. We are currently teaching at the Woodfin Y and have taught together for a couple of years. Because what we offer is more about creating community and is done with a spirit of generosity, we don't have big means for space rentals.

To make the most of building foundational skills and cultivating people along a spectrum of dance proficiency, we envision a 3 hour block starting at 6 or 6:30 and going to 9 or 9:30.

  • 6-7 Beginner Class
  • 7-8 Practice
  • 8-9 Intermediate class

What a business or non-profit host could expect from us if they decide to host us:

  • A group of 12-35 pepople per night, with an expectation that folks will buy drinks, eat food, if available.
  • A kind and respectful group of folks with deep commitment to their practice, who will be regulars in the community-building of the venue.
  • Responsible to tidy up, put things back as we found them, and lock up after ourselves, if needed.

We do utilize traditional tango music which is quintessential to the experience and carries a nostalgic vibe.
