Hidden Hills: Studio Only Application
Hidden Hills: Studio Only Application
Hidden Hills is an artist-run residency program based out of West Asheville, NC.
Developed in 2023 by Britt Harrison as an effort to sustain and grow the local creative community in Asheville while providing creative space for regional and national artists.
In response to Hurricane Helene and the devastation that the art community in Asheville and surrounding areas has suffered, Hidden Hills will be opening up residential, studio space, and community workshops to artists who have been affected by the storm. Description
Studio space will be completely financially free. Artists will need to offer a work exchange of a completed piece of art created during their stay or recently completed. More information about work exchange can be found here. The studio unit is fully furnished and functions as an Airbnb in the off time. This space includes a large living room, a work desk, a full bathroom, a full kitchen, and outdoor areas.
The home will be partially shared with another selected local artist seeking residency + studio space. This house will also organize workshops, community gatherings, and additional opportunities to engage with other artists in the area over your professional practice and shared experience post-Helene. This unit is on the top floor of a house built into the hillside, creating a serene and quiet experience.
Another tenant will occupy the unit downstairs, so noise should be minimal.
