Join Trillium Arts For A Work-In-Progress Showing By Marcelo Martinez & Dancers Exploring "Emotion Into Motion" Saturday, August 23, 4:00pm-6:00pm Renowned ballet dancer, Marcelo Martinez, recipient of a 2025 Trillium Arts North Carolina Choreographic Fellowship will be joined by three dancers to create a new contemporary ballet work. After decades as a celebrated principal dancer, Marcelo is embarking on the next chapter of his career as a choreographer. During the residency, Marcelo seeks to explore "emotion into motion" and in this time of recovery from Hurricane Helene, discover how movement can express feelings of grief, dispair, hope and resiliency. Marcelo hopes to premiere the finished work later this fall with the Asheville Ballet, so be among the first to capture a sneak peek!

4:00pm Guests arrive. The showing will begin by 4:15pm.

5:00pm - 6:00pm : Engage in a moderated discussion with the artists about their process and how they are discovering dance as a method to explore the emotional landscape of Hurricane Helene. The discussion will be followed by drinks, light bites, and heartfelt conversation.
