Evening Reception: The Ties That Bind

August 08, 2025
05:00PM - 08:00PM

Join us for an evening spent celebrating The Ties That Bind!

An ode to the simple domesticity of daily life, and a celebration of the sacred mundane that became the singular focus in the months following The Storm. Featuring textile patterns, barn quilts, & sun-dried laundry to honor the resilience, strength, & softness that we found within ourselves and our community.

For the artists featured in this show, the threads of connection among neighbors and strength of community are themes that have long-since been anchors of their creative process. Their voices and hands produce bespoke works that evoke the spirit of summer breezes, the tenderness of an old threadbare quilt, and the comforting creak of a familiar chair.

Featuring new work from Sonya Clemons, Kent Ambler, Liz Sullivan, Winton & Rosa Eugene, Ellen Langford, Doug Frati, and brand-new addition to our folk art family Church Goin' Mule!

More information about the show can be found on our website: https://www.amerifolk.com/artists/the-ties-that-bind/ This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome to join us!
