Raining on Sunny Street Casting Call

When Hurricane Helene hits Asheville, a neighborhood of strangers must unite despite their differences. Without each other, they cannot survive, and with each other, they learn how to live. Derived from a series of community interviews, Raining on Sunny Street is a play with music recounting and reconciling with the events of the Hurricane. Looking for artists and actors who are passionate about creating art to serve the community in a deep and personal way.

Written and Directed by NYU Tisch student and Asheville Artist, Sofia Costanzo. Throughout the rehearsal process, Sofia will be drawing from practices of Michael Chekhov, Grotowski, Gestalt Therapy, and Embodied acting and voice approaches.

This project will provide actors with a stipend of $100

Rehearsals: July 20 - Aug 27

Performances: August 28/29th
