Pride Month Film Party: Fixin' to Stay

June 05, 2026
08:00PM - 10:00PM

Fixin’ to Stay is an upcoming documentary that challenges stereotypes about the Southeast by centering queer and trans Southerners who are building queer power, mutual aid networks, and lasting change across the region.

The evening will feature a screening of the newest reel from Fixin’ to Stay, alongside the trailer for Whistle Down Wind by Justice Film Collective, a queer coming-of-age feature directed by Andie Morgenlander and filmed entirely in Western North Carolina, with support from Campaign for Southern Equality, Cucalorus, the New Orleans Film Festival, and more.

Transilient has reached national and international audiences through its traveling trans documentary project, with coverage in Refinery29, OUT, BuzzFeed, and more. The organization remains committed to skill-sharing and creating pathways for trans and queer creators to break into documentary storytelling. This fundraiser helps sustain that work.

Guests can watch trailers for upcoming films, connect with the community, support queer Southern filmmaking, and enter a raffle featuring prizes from local favorites and friends, including Dobra Tea, JW Creates, Web (Wesley) Bowers, and Robert Alan Grand.
