The newly re-launched Downtown Arts District (DAD) announces the return of First Friday Art Walk, now reimagined as a unified cultural experience spanning visual art, craft, food, and beverage across downtown Asheville.

Formerly known as a gallery-centered event, First Friday now operates under the broader Downtown Arts District umbrella, reflecting the full creative ecosystem of the city. Participating venues include galleries, artist studios, restaurants, breweries, and cultural spaces, offering visitors a dynamic and walkable evening that celebrates Asheville’s creative identity in its entirety.

Guests are invited to explore new exhibitions, meet artists, and experience curated offerings throughout the district. Many locations will feature opening receptions, special installations, and refreshments.

This expanded format positions First Friday Art Walk as a cornerstone cultural event—one that connects Asheville’s artistic heritage with its evolving contemporary landscape, while strengthening collaboration across creative industries.

“This relaunch reflects what Asheville already is,” said organizers of the Downtown Arts District initiative. “A place where art, craft, food, and community are inseparable. First Friday, Art Walk is now a more complete expression of that energy.”
