★ About the Show ★ Featuring original compositions that oscillate between a cappella and electronic tracks, Sirenum: A Lesbian Folk Opera blends the genres of folklore and science fiction, and introduces audiences to a world that feels timeless and yet altogether new. In this musical from Skysail Theatre, a young spacefarer seeks answers on a mythical planet, faces an ominous guardian, and attempts to decipher what the fates have in store.
★ About the Artists ★ 🏆 2022 winners of the Fringe Fan Favorite Award
Skysail Theatre tells thoughtful, provocative, and entertaining stories centered around LGBTQ+ themes through live performance art. Since 2022 the company has premiered multiple award-winning original musicals: "Tithonia: A Lesbian Opera” which toured the US Fringe festival circuit, and “Interstellar Song Contest” which premiered live at Asheville Fringe and was also released as an audio drama in the Atlanta Fringe Audio festival. Their most recent project is a new musical titled “Sirenum”. Skysail Theatre creates interdisciplinary and collaborative works by blending music, theatre, movement, and everything in between.
