Sanders, Boyd, Page & Hall

July 15, 2025
07:00PM - 10:00PM

Performing live every Tuesday at Little Jumbo in Asheville, NC, Sanders, Boyd, Page, and Hall is an ongoing canvas of like minded sonic adventurers. Their focus on origial compositions oscillates between peaceful melodicism, free jazz, and cacophonous noise music; simultaneously fusing jazz, rock, blues, metal, and African influences with years of improvisational study and training.

The quartet is led by 30+ year sideman and music industry veteran Jay Sanders on guitar. Jay has produced and recorded more than two dozen records and toured extensively across the U.S. and internationally as a member of Acoustic Syndicate, Snake Oil Medicine Show, Donna the Buffalo, and the E. Normous Trio. Jay is also a composer who has worked with the ETHEL string quartet, Rational Discourse, and a myriad of independent filmakers. His solo recording debut, Evanescent, was released in 2024. At once a musing on impermanence and a showcase of stylistic virtuosity, this debut record showcases the quintessence of a prolific composer's catalog. Throughout his career Sanders has played with many of his heroes including Ornette Coleman, Hank Roberts, Bela Fleck, Ivan Neville, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Fred Wesley, Sam Bush, Vassar Clements, and many more.

Jay is joined by multi-reed instrumentalist, composer, and educator Will Boyd, widely celebrated acclaimed bassist Zack Page, and exceptional drummer and composer Alan Hall. The quartet is working towards multiple recording projects in 2025 including a live album, a short-form EP, and a full length studio record.
