Spirit of Craft: A Weekly Poetry Workshop
Spirit of Craft: A Weekly Poetry Workshop
Thursdays: 1:30-3:15pm, Quietude (sessions are free, no registration required, drop-in's welcome)
The purpose of this writing group is to practice and honor the craft of poetry, as you individually see it. The spirit of craft is beginner’s mind, or the open feeling that we always have something to learn. In that spirit we will mature our own poetry and share our work if we choose. All are welcome, including first-time poets. Each session will be self-contained, with a practice period, poetry free-writing, sharing, and a spirit-of-craft discussion.
Facilitator:
Jacob Kramer is a poet living
in Black Mountain, NC. He has
a BA in Creative Writing from
UNC-Asheville and is currently
enrolled in the Master’s
program of Writing at Vermont
College of Fine Arts. His work
has been printed in several
publications, including
Furrows, Headwaters, and The
Mountain Xpress. He has
experience as a freelance
creative writing coach and a
writing workshop facilitator.
