New Amsterdam String Band unites virtuosity, fiddling, and improvisation. Founded while still students at The Juilliard School, NASB finds its roots in historic string playing combined with New York City energy. The ensemble has performed with Rhiannon Giddens and Paul Simon, and recently recorded for an upcoming PBS documentary, produced by Ken Burns. New Amsterdam String Band’s members are Jimmy Drancsak, Lydia Becker, Graham Cohen, Nathan Francisco, and Logan Zaud.

The Museum’s popular concert series takes place in the Windgate Foundation Atrium, an art filled space with some of the best acoustics in Asheville. Our concerts always include an intermission with time to enjoy the artwork and a drink from our Perspective Café pop up bar.
