RADFest 1.0

November 09, 2024 - November 10, 2024
11:00AM - 08:00PM

RADFest 1.0, a special two-day celebration marking the first steps in the beloved arts community's recovery following Hurricane Helene. The festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, November 9-10, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM each day.

RADFest 1.0 represents more than just a reopening—it's a testament to the unwavering spirit of Asheville's artistic community. The festival will feature both operating studios and temporary exhibition spaces, ensuring that all RAD artists, including those temporarily displaced by the hurricane, can reconnect with the community and share their work.

“We wanted to do something to show our resiliency and to celebrate our community and also give an opportunity for locals to come and support us to ensure that we can persevere through one of the most challenging times, economically, emotionally, and physically,” said River Arts District Artists President Jeffrey Burroughs.

Festival highlights include:

  • Pop-up booths showcasing works from displaced artists
  • Open studios
  • Live demonstrations throughout both days
  • Food vendors and local musicians
  • Information about ongoing restoration efforts and how to support affected artists

The River Arts District has long been the creative heart of Asheville, and RADFest 1.0 marks an important milestone in its recovery. Community members are invited to support local artists by purchasing artwork, connecting with creators, and celebrating the resilience of this vibrant artistic community.
