Whether the houses you create are a symbol of sanctuary, an homage to family, a home for whimsical, or even a little kooky and creepy, you'll have fun in this beginner-friendly workshop! Every participant will get two blocks of wood in rough-cut house shapes to embellish with mixed-media, collage, encaustic wax, and dimensional objects!

In this class, students will learn:

• Which mixed-media favorites play well with encaustic

• The basics of working with wax and applying encaustic to a three dimensional form

• How to collage into encaustic wax medium

• Different ways of attaching dimensional objects to an encaustic-coated form

This class is a fantastic introduction to the three-dimensional and sculptural potential of encaustic wax, and will demonstrate methods that can be carried over into ALL encaustic wax applications!
